WEBB: Wired To Wireless

This new exhibit premiers on November 29th - in conjunction with the Town's Christmas on Main Street Celebration.

The WEBB: Wired To Wireless exhibit at the Goodsell Museum chronicles the on-going challenges that locals and private entrepreneurs have had to overcome to prevent one tree falling disconnecting the Town of Webb to all of the modern technological inventions that have occurred during the last century.

Along with a touchable display and vintage photographs, the exhibit includes a timeline that illustrates the technological changes brought to the area. Gone are the electric dynamos, telegraph and gramophones. Also illustrated are the dramatic high-tech changes in the business world. Typewriters, stenographers and mimeograph machines are things of the past. Today, online websites are used to promote recreation and special events, as well as allow visitors to reserve accommodations in the area.

The exhibit will trigger nostalgia for those who have lived through this amazing era of technological changes but should also appeal to youngsters born in the 21st century digital age.
