"Floating Letters" - Mailboats Exhibit
Tuesday-Saturday, 10 AM – 3 PM, Goodsell Museum, 2993 State Route 28, Old Forge. This ongoing feature exhibit tells the story of delivering mail by boat on the various waterways in the Town of Webb - a service that began in the 1880s and continues to this day.

2011 Historical Association's Annual Meeting
Tuesday, May 17th at 7PM. Election of new or renewing Trustees, By-Law changes; Refreshments and light snacks will be served.
All are invited to attend.

Sale, Sale, Sale
Friday and Saturday 9 AM – 4 PM in conjunction with the Town Wide Garage Sale. Look for the tent in front of the Barn (Gilbert Street) behind the Goodsell Museum, 2993 State Route 28, Old Forge. Proceeds to benefit the Town of Webb Historical Association Fuel Fund from items donated by TOWHA members and others.

Inaugural Book Signing - by authors Linda Cohen & Peg Masters on their new Arcadia book - "Old Forge and The Fulton Chain of Lakes" - all royalties from the book sales to benefit the Town of Webb Historical Assoc.

Led by Geof Longstaff—Pre-registration is required, space is limited.  Leave from Moss Lake trail-head 9:30 AM rain or shine, narrated 2 1/2 hour walk around the lake.  Donations appreciated.

110th Anniversary of mail boat service on the Fulton Chain of Lakes Commemoration
 - the Old Forge Post Office will issue a special postmark. A temporary post office will be set up under a tent at the Old Forge Lake Cruises boat dock. The postal clerk will apply the postmark to any item bearing first-class postage. In addition, a special envelope and post card stamped “cache” with the special hand cancellation will be available for purchase from museum staff to benefit TOWHA. Cost is $5 per envelope and $3.50 for the post card. Mail order requests available & must be postmarked no later than August 25, 2011.

"Victorian Party on the Porch"
This fundraiser-benefit will be held on the porches Goodsell Museum, 2993 State Route 28, Old Forge. Enjoy the displays and exhibits, refreshments, entertainment, conversation, and silent auction. $15/pp

Civil War Program
In recognition of the Sesquicentennial of the Civil War, this 2-part program includes 1) “The American Civil War—A Soldiers Story," by Bruce Bonfield of Naples, FL & Old Forge, based upon his book titled Make the Rebels Bawl - from the Civil War letters and diary of Lt. Gilbert Cooley, Bonfield's great-great grandfather. 2) A slideshow presentation titled: The Civil War Veterans of Brown's Tract. - by Town of Webb Historian, Peg Masters.

Historic Wooden Boat Tour of the Fulton Chain
Participants will meet at the Old Forge Waterfront to board antique wooden boats for a narrated 2-hr tour of more than 20 historic places along the Chain. Tour leader is "Doc" Foley and the cost is $50/per person. Reservations are requested - contact the Historical at 315-369-3838.
